The prominent features of Koh Lipe are natural coral reefs, beauty of a vast open bay, and a powdered-sand beach. Ao Phattaya is a beautiful bay in a curved shape with a white fine beach. Within a 15-minute walking, you can connect to another beach of the island such as Hat Chao Le or Chao Le Beach. During the festive time, the villagers will built a boat from Rakam wood and perform a ceremony to float the boat, according to their belief in the prediction of their fishing. They will do this celebration twice a year in May and November.
TARUTAO NATIONAL PARK
“Tarutao” is a word that was distorted from the word “Talotrao” in Malay language meaning a lot of gulf. Tarutao is a national park in the Andaman Season of AmphurMuang, Satul province. On the south of the park is only 4.8 kilometers from the Thailand- Malaysia border. It is the dream destination of the tourists since it is the center of the nature both inland and underwater. Under the water, it is the center of beautiful sea creatures including colourful corals. It consists of 51 small islands
Tarutao National Park consists of 7 big islands which are Tarutao Island, Ardang Island, Rawee Island, Lipe Island, Klang Island, Batuang Island, Biszee Island which are divided into 2 main islands which are Tarutao Islands and Ardang-Rawee Islands.
Tarutao Island is the biggest island among these islands with the area of 152.01 square-kilometers. Most of the area consists of steep mountains, the highest mountain peak is 708 meters from the sea level. The islands on the east side consist of alternating mountains and beaches. On the west side consists of cliffs and low land at the back of the mountain. The important gulfs are such as Pantaemalaka Gulf, Son Gulf, Makham Gulf, Talohudang Gulf and Talohwow Gulf. The gulfs have canals and rivers flowing pass to the sea with a little low land on the north of the beach.
Koh A dang
Ardang-Rawee Islands is around 40 kilometers from the west side of Tarutao Island. It is where the National Park Tarutao is located. On the island, the sand is white and delicate and has a very nice underwater view. Around the island, there are cliffs above the beaches. In the ancient time, the pirates use this island as the hiding location. It is also suitable for a surface diving. There are accommodations and restaurants of the national park to service the tourists.
Krabi Province, which lies along the coast of the Andaman sea in Southern Thailand, is a top tourist destination as a result of its plentiful natural attractions including, white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, extensive coral reefs, numerous caves and waterfalls, and over 130 islands, including Koh Lanta and the jewels of the Andaman coast, the six islands of Mu Koh Phi Phi National Park.
While not the top destination in and of itself, Krabi Town is a charming provincial capital located along the banks of a river that leads to the nearby Andaman Sea. Consequently, Krabi is an important port city for both local fisherman as well as boats ferrying visitors to the nearby attractions, including Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, and Railey Beach, one of the premier rock climbing destinations in the world.
MU KOH LANTA NATIONAL PARK
The origin of the island’s name is derived from “Lanta” which is slightly changed from “Lantas” in Java language which means “Pla stove which is used in grilling fish”. It is a stove made from wood in square shape and raises the floor up like a table. The fire is lit under the stove and fish are laid on the stove for grilling. Moo Koh Lanta National Park covers about 83,750 Rai or 134 square kilometers.
This national park locates near Andaman sea and consists of 25 small and large islands which can be classified into 4 groups. The first one is Koh Rok archipelago which consists of Koh Rok Nok (Outbound) and Koh Rok Nai (Inbound). Koh Rok Nai’s geography is of steep cliff with long-term eroded crag in the north. The West side is long cliff. In front of the island is 2.4 kilometers long. The highest peak is 208 meters high from the sea level. Koh Rok Nok has its similar size with Koh Rok Nai. The highest peak is 156 meters high from the sea level. Between the mountain passes lays 2 vast plain lands which are Chong Khao Kad Thalu Mountain Pass and Marn Srai Bay. Koh Rok archipelago’s geology is in Permian Carboniferous which is around 345 – 230 millions old. It is rich of natural resource, beach forest, mangrove forest, plentiful coral reefs and beaches around the islands. Moreover, it is abundant of various kinds of animals which can be categorized into 6 main groups. The mammal which can be found in this area is manatee which is wildlife preservation. Another 2 types of mammals which are going to be extinct soon are barking deer and fishing cats. One rare animal is Marshalls’ horseshoe bats and
some birds such as Brahminy kite, whiskered terns and emerald doves. Some birds which are not occasionally seen are orange-breasted trogons, black-breasted thrushes and little spider hunters.
Some reptiles which are easily seen are flat-tailed house gecko, monitor lizards, pythons and Indochinese rat snakes. Two amphibians, which can be seen near the rivers and canals, are giant Asian river frogs and microhyla ornatas. Around the accommodations and pounds, you can find other amphibians
Koh Phi phi
